CCA is the first point of contact for numerous media groups seeking commentary and information on the cult phenomena. Over the past eighteen months, CCA responded to multiple inquiries from most of Australia’s print and electronic media organizations.
Of particular note was an expose in April 2023 conducted by Channel 9’s Sixty Minutes and The Melbourne Age on the tragic deaths of four police officers in Melbourne. The program titled “Under the Influence” highlighted the alleged link between the deaths and the beliefs of a Christian fundamentalist operations manager of the trucking company who sent the truck’s driver of this fateful journey.
In April 2024, an hour long SBS Insight program provided comprehensive coverage on the cult phenomenon. The program titled “Cult Following” generated considerable interest both locally and internationally.

“The federal government should consider, as a matter of urgency, setting up an authority to oversee and monitor religious groups which claim to offer healing and, in some circumstances, deny their followers access to registered health providers,” according to Raphael Aron, Director of Cult Consulting Australia.
